About Us

Midlife Crisis … We never thought it would happen to us but …. Maybe this is it!  We see friends passing on, we feel our
bodies changing and slowing down … and we ask ourselves “If we don’t do it now, will it be too late?”

We love Bill’s Uncle and Aunt’s story.  In their mid-50’s, they sold their house, bought a boat and spent several years sailing the waters of the United States.  They met wonderful people, enjoyed the beauty of this country and, when the timing was right, they sold the boat and went back to work.  Shortly after their return, Bill’s aunt developed a heart condition and, if they had not done what they did, when they did it, they would never have fulfilled their dream!  They did, however, buy an Airstream and spent several more years traveling this beautiful country.  What a great story!

For years our dream has been to live in foreign countries – not just visit them for a few days or weeks.  Travel is in our blood.  So many places to see, so many people to meet, so much to learn and – hopefully – to contribute along the way.

In 2012 we took the first step and went to Panama!  Initially, we went to house-sit for 10 weeks and after that stayed for a year.  We made wonderful friendships, enjoyed the beautiful scenery surrounding the town of Boquete, Chiriqui, waking up each morning to see Mt. Volcan (over 11,000 ft.) right on our doorstep. The climate at 3,500 ft, with temperatures ranging from low to mid 70’s, required no air-conditioning or heating.  Cost of living was less expensive, visits to the local fruit market were an experience … pineapples sweeter than we’d ever tasted! We learned a little Spanish, explored the Caribbean islands of Bocas del Toro, and spent Christmas at Las Lajas Resort on the Pacific Coast.

Then we looked at our Bucket List and came back to the US and bought an RV trailer!  RVing around the States was next on Bill’s Bucket List … so here we are!  We hope you enjoy our US adventure with us … as long as it lasts!

Great to see you two doing the travel thing together. Florence and I look forward to following along on your travel adventures. I feel like we are kindred spirits. You can let us experience the U.S. through your travels. We can share our stories from abroad. Good luck and always be safe! – Mike
